Hi! My name is Ashley Chastain and I am based in Chicago, IL working as a UX designer for Publicis Sapient. What inspires me most about my work is the satisfaction of seeing our designs come to life and knowing that they have made a positive difference for our clients and their end-users

Growing up I always had a "big imagination", at least according to my parents. I knew I wanted to do something with design at a young age, so I worked as a beauty advisor, Through this experience I discovered my passion for makeup and the art of transformation. I loved working with customers, helping them enhance their natural beauty and achieve their desired look. As I gained more experience in the beauty industry, I found myself drawn to the creative process of product design and marketing. This curiosity led me to explore a new field: user experience design.

Although it may seem like a departure from my original career path, I quickly discovered that my background in beauty and user experience design shared a common thread. Both fields require a keen understanding of user needs, preferences, and behavior, as well as a deep appreciation for aesthetics and functionality. Through design thinking and human-centered design methodologies, I learned how to create digital experiences that are intuitive, engaging, and delightful.

What I love most about my work as a UX designer is the ability to solve complex problems and create meaningful solutions that truly benefit people's lives. Whether it's designing an app that simplifies a user's daily routine or a website that guides customers through a seamless shopping experience, I find great satisfaction in seeing my designs come to life and make a difference. My journey from beauty advisor to UX designer has been an unexpected and exciting one, and I'm excited to see where this path takes me next.
